Random inflammation every now and then on the middle right side of my stomach. It’s a year since I did the surgery and am consistently losing weight but I always get inflamed randomly. Is there something I should be doing differently to help with the inflammation. I don’t eat much but it’s concerning since it always happens and lasts a couple of hours then goes down. Usually when I wake up and sometimes at night. It feels bruised when I press down on it lightly.

Does it feel like it's distended? It is warm to the touch?

Gas ? Does having a good fart relive it or could be your position you sleep in we have a new cair at work that gives me a pain in the lower left abdomen which worried me but then I realised I only got the pain when I was at work. But yes get it checked out just in case it's something .

I don’t think it’s gas it feels like soft and then goes away a couple hours later it’s weird like a cloud but 🤣 that’s the first thing I thought about but it never was gas pain when it first started it was weird like an inflamed cloud but nah it goes away without needing to fart or anything I just drink Water and wait a few hours it’s soft and puffy happens at least two to three times every two weeks but I’ll see if I can message the hospital to talk to my nurse ☺️ thank you all for responding

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
