Instagram Support Groups (Non-Facebook groups)

Recommended Posts

Doesn’t anyone follow helpful support pages or people on Instagram covering their weight loss surgery journey? I had a sleeve to rny revision 3 weeks ago and would love to follow some folks on Instagram since I don’t have Facebook and don’t want to create an account.

If you’re active on Instagram please feel free to share your @ and any suggested Instagram accounts you follow/find helpful. Thanks!

I hadn't thought of that. I follow a girl on YouTube that lost 70 lbs doing Weight Watchers because I'm doing it now. She didn't have WLS though. I'm not on FB either. Or Instagram, but I'm thinking about joining.

I say join! So far I just look up hashtags like #wlscommunity #rny #wls etc. I want to connect with people for support. Single during a pandemic can fell isolating. I mostly work, workout and meal prep my 2 ounce containers.

BariNation! They are on IG and they have a membership forum. I absolutely love it. Lots of support groups, forums for conversation, step challenges, expert presentations, etc. HIGHLY recommend.

I followed several bloggers who are in remission after Anorexia Nervosa. I think it helped me to take an example from those who cope with it every day, just like me. But then things got worse for me. So it's much more comfortable to watch videos in Tick Tock, where many girls with different figures show their diet or useful daily rituals. It's calming. I also created such an account. My face is not there, but I show my food and workouts. I put on a face mask. With socialboosting.com I've raised my popularity and account views, so you'll find me by my nickname. It's the same as here. Girls, YOU ARE STRONG!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
