Anything to help sagging arms/skin?

Recommended Posts

I know it’s been discussed, but just wondering if anyone has advise for sagging arms or loose skin? I’m not even to surgery yet and already have worsening of the flabby arm skin. Besides plastic surgery are there any particular exercises, sleeves, etc that may help? I do CrossFit 3xa week and walking other days. So I do lift weights in combo with cardio. Just thinking ahead and maybe can figure something out to help along the way. Also, what about garments, lotions, supplements etc??? Just a thought.

Thanks!

Strength training might help. I doubt that any of mine will tighten up because I'm so old (73). I've lost 62 lbs pre-surgery, lost 33 inches to date, but NO inches lost on my upper arms. I swear no one will ever see them. I wear sleeves even in my swimwear. I may have a trip to Mexico in my future.

I’ve never been a sleeveless shirt wearer even in high school! They just seem to already be so deflated. I’d like to avoid any plastics if I could just because of cost etc so I’d like to try something. I realize I’m probably grasping at straws and getting the cart before the horse here lol

Once skin has been stretched there’s really nothing you can do about it (think of a well used stretched out hair band) except to surgically remove it. The younger you are, the shorter the length of time you’ve been obese& if you’ve been blessed with good genes you will have less sagging skin.

I chose not to go down the surgery path to remove my bat wings (or tuck shop lady arms as we call them here in Australia - tuck shops are school canteens). I still wear sleeveless clothing. I avoid strapless, narrow straps or cut away shoulders as they tend to show off the loose skin more. I just don’t go waving my arms about in the air so others can’t really see anything. It must work as I was told a few months ago that I had beautiful arms. 😂😂😂

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
