Deep Armpits

Recommended Posts

One problem I never expected to have after weight loss is that my armpits are now too deep and narrow for standard razors. I have to buy the more expensive bikini razors. Is this just me or is this normal?

I had a lot of trouble shaving my underarms after weight loss. I now go get them waxed bc I just can’t seem to get everything shaving. It’s made a big diff. I just hate the in between waxing where it grows out until next appt.

Yes but waxing has been awesome
Plus the hair grows back finer and less!

Oh yeah! That was one thing I never saw or heard mentioned before surgery, but I have experienced the same thing and I've since seen a lot of other people here mention it. It makes me wonder if all skinny people have that problem or just those of us who lost a lot of weight.

One of the benefits to arm lift surgery-I don't have to shave anymore. That skin was removed! I also don't sweat in my armpits anymore!

It’s caused by the loose skin in your armpits which folds in over your actual pits. Your beauty therapist would stretch & pull the loose skin out of the way when they wax but it’s nigh on impossible for you to do it yourself - one arm in the air the other holding the razor.

Try stretching your arm back as far as you can while pushing your pit area (& breast) forward to stretch the skin more. Or use you upper arm to try to pull the loose skin out of the way.

+1

Another unexpected benefit: no more stinky pits! (Though i dunno if this is because of the arm lift, or just the weight loss in general…???)

I don't know about the sweating part, its probably from weight loss but the no shave part is definitely from my arm lift! I actually love that part. I just had a breast lift last Monday and 2 ugly biopsy scars on my left breast are now gone. It's amazing how they can move skin and tissue around!

WHOA I had no idea this could be a thing and now I sort of hope I end up needing that surgery because pit shaving is for the birds!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
