What is your current fill in the APL 14cc band?

Recommended Posts

I am currently at 5cc's with very little restriction. I can eat anything and have! My second fill is today.

I was banded on Nov. 21 and I have the 14cc band and I have nothing in it right now! I am still hungry all the time! Its like I don't even have the band in! I lost 11 pounds the first week and since then have gained 2 pounds. My doctor hasn't got back to me about how soon we can do a fill! But I think its 6 six weeks! I only know people who have the 5cc band and they don't understand why I'm hungry at this point. Is anyone else feeling this way??

I really didn't feel much restriction until my third fill. Right now I have about 9 ccs in my band (if I remember correctly). My doctor will only do fills 8 weeks apart, however he will fill with a significant amount. I haven't had a fill in about 11 weeks and I don't think that I need one right now. I'm doing alright so far. It's frustrating, but eventually you'll get there...good luck everyone!

I had a fill in October of 2.3 cc's in a 4cc band(I think)

I went back at 6 weeks and under fluoro the Dr only

pulled back .5 cc's. He put only 1.5 back in when I was

hoping that I would be close to 3cc's by now. I felt

no restriction at all and of course started taking

advantage of the fact that I could eat!! I go back to his

office 4 days later hoping for another fill .He's trying to tell

me that the Fluid could be in the excess tubing that I have

and once that equalizes, I should feel tightness. I have never

heard of such crap:confused: and basically told him so. I have had

a quite a few problems with my band and I was concerned that I had a

leak, which is one of the problems I have had in the past.

So, on 12/27 I go for another fluoro and we will see whats

happening and I will hopefully get a substantial fill.

If I have a leak, I am basically screwed cause my insurance

does not cover the hospital that he goes to.;)

I went for my second fill but didn't get one because I had lost 4 pounds. Bummer. They absolutely will not fill if you lose 2 or more pounds per week. Oh well, maybe next time.

I have 6.7 cc in the 14cc band and I am not losing ANYTHING! I go for my 3rd fill tomorrow. I pray that it will stop me from being hungry and being able to eat a lot more than other people say they can eat! I am so frustrated right now!!!

I got my 3rd fill today in my 14cc band. I'm now at 7.1cc's. It's a little early to tell if I have restriction yet, as I'm on liquids for two days. I am hopeful that I have some restriction, because I have to drink my liquids very slowly, and I've never had to do that before.

yes I was banded on 11-14 and have been very hungry I've started exercising and that seemed to make me more so, so I've stopped until I get a fill. I have lost 14lbs I will gain 2 lbs then lose 2 back and forth. I get a fill monday 12-17 hopefully that will help. my doc says this is normal

I'm really glad to see this thread (though I'm the FIRST one to remind everyone that fill amounts don't mean anything and there's no point comparing). I had my first fill a couple of weeks ago in my APL band, of less than 5 ccs. And I don't feel any restriction to speak of.

I was reading your posts a few months ago and hadn't visited here lately. I am so glad to read that you got your NEW band. Good luck on your 2nd journey...

I'll be watching and eager to see your results.

Going for my 7th fill Wed. 19th, I'm currently at 9.75cc's and again feeling no restriction and am eating too much....

I was banded 07-11-07. After 5 fills I have 7.9cc in my APL. I have restriction (actually had to have 0.1cc Fluid and 0.2cc air removed from my band, long story about a long flight and a rare complication). The pounds are finally falling off. I recommend that you take it slow getting your fills, after having been too tight, it's miserable. I have lost 44 lbs from my heaviest and 32 lbs from my surgery date, I have 62 lbs to go. I love my band! Don't get discouraged, it works!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
