Post VSG Regrets?

Recommended Posts

Zero regrets. None. In hindsight, I had nothing to be nervous about. Rest for the first few day/week, go easy for a few weeks & you’ll be amazed at how good you feel. Honestly, I’ve had dental work that was more of a struggle. Good luck!

Sorry that you have had a hard time. I am especially sorry to hear you are struggling with the horrible post-sleeve acid reflux. That is one of the things I hate about the sleeve: that it is basically a huge gamble that you won't be one of the unlucky ones who has hellish acid reflux after the surgery.

If you are not able to get the RNY covered as a bariatric surgery, you may want to see if they can appeal it as being necessary for the acid reflux. After all, severe acid reflux is a health risk. We have had some threads here about other ideas on how to deal with the acid reflux, especially if you do in fact have a hiatal hernia :

Thank you so much! Unfortunately it is my employer whom just will not work with me as I appealed the denial as well as my surgeon. Their reasoning is "if we do it for one, we have to do for all" which is quite literally the most insane thing to say as EVERYONE is different. My surgeon really went above and beyond for me on trying to get this covered so my only other option is self pay which was a decision I knew I had to make because this GERD is out of control. I appreciate you sending over the info!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
