5'6" - What weight/size are you?

Recommended Posts

I'm 5'5 1/2", is that close enough? :P

I started at 247 in a snug 22. I'm not around 170, and have found my 12s in pants are a bit loose. Up top, I'm anywhere from a M to a XXL due to a ridiculously large chest.

FWIW, if you want an ego boost, try clothes from Hanna Andersson or JJill. They're infamous for vanity sizing! It's fun to put on a M and have it hang on you! :P

I'm 5'5.5 as well and i started at 287.7 size 24 (most likely 26 because i was in a denial phase where i still squeezed myself into the 24's and :faint: refused to buy bigger clothes!!! :P)

But im now 220 and i wear 20/18... mostly 20 though ... but i carry all my weight in my stomach (actually the majority of it.):heh:kinda funny looking big stomach no butt!!! LOL!!!:P

I am 5'6'' and weight 210 as of this morning and can just fit into a pair of size 16 pants but can wear an L on the top and a 14/16 in dress sizes depending on the cut. I have large hips and breasts but am narrow on the top. Hope this helps!

I am 5 ft 5 starting weight of 359 (banded 9-13-06) wore a size 32-34 pants and a 4x or 5x top. Today i weighed 214 and can wear size 18 old navy jeans (hadda buy 3 pair just cuz i was thrilled they were an 18). Top size is a 22 or 2x, much to my distress i seem to have shrunk more on the bottom half then the top! UGH.

I'm 5'6 and was around 335 at my highest. I used to wear up to a 5x (size 32). Right now I can wear anything from size 3x to 5x depending on the style.

KelinTX:

Funny that you said you seem to be losing from the bottom more than the top. I started at 324 and as of this morning was 235 and I'm shrinking from the top down. I look like an average-sized person from the ribs up, and like a very large woman from the ribs down. I can wear a Large top, but am wearing size 20W on the bottom! I heard that as you get close to goal is when it "melts" off the heaviest part. I hope that's true.

Keep up the good work.

Sue

Well I'm 5'5", but with shoes make it to over 5'6".

I started at 333 and a size 28.

Now at 275, I'm a 18/20 in tops and a 24 in pants. I have been able to fit into some XXL tops and dresses from Old Navy, but not their pants.

One day I'd love to be a single digit size take your pick: 2, 4, 6 or 8.

Well I am sorry I took so long to answer your question Jenny. I am at 195, 5'5" and I am not sure of what size I need yet. I am wearing my 18's in pants and tops. I might could wear a 16 but I am not buying any new clothes yet. I still have quite a few things in 18. I had like 3 sizes in my closet. I gained most of my weight in my torso area. My legs are very small so to get pants to fit me is hard. I was wearing size 20 before so I am down 1 size with the 26 lb. weight loss. My rings have gotten too big so I have lost weight in my hands too.

I'm around 145lbs as of today, and wearing size 10's.

(I started at 284lbs, and size 24 sometimes 26's)

I'm 5'6. Started at 319 a size 26. I lost 23 in total pretty evenly with the extra inches in my waist. As of 12/2, I am now 277 size 20. I am buying and requesting 18's for the holidays. I think a size 12 would be grand!

I am 5'6 and started at 234lbs and wore a 2XL shirt, and 18-20 bottoms. I am currently at 195lbs and am wearing a L-XL shirt, and 14 bottoms. I too carry my weight around my midsection. I have long skinny legs, virtually no chest (due to a breast reduction), and a rude looking rear end. You know the long, flat looking type. I would love to see 170 lbs, and a 10-12 bottom.:kiss2:

Wow! Thank you all for replying! It was very interesting to see everyone's weight/size. I think that size is what I obsess on the most. I don't care if I'm 300 pounds if I'm in a size 6!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
