Hi there,

I had glue on my scars. I am 2 weeks post op. The incision under my breasts/ rib fell off today. Not naturally, but by my bra.

Anything had anything similar? Am I in trouble?

If you are talking about the steri strip you should be okay. I’m surprised they stayed on for two weeks.I did not have any glue though?

I had glue on all my incisions - it gradually fell off - I think the last of it was gone by about the four week mark. Unless the incision is bleeding, it's probably fine.

I had glue. Mine naturally peeled at 2 weeks. (except for 1 which my mom accidentally took off early with baby oil a few days out trying to remove tape marks! oops! But it turned out to be fine)

I was told I could take baths again at 2 weeks when the glue is gone so I figure that's about the timing to expect. Of course we all have different surgeons with different methods but my point is, its probably fine unless its leaking or looks inflamed.

I have glue also. I am at 2 weeks and the glue on the incision on the left side under my bra came off yesterday as well due to the bar sliding against it. It seems to happen on my left one, but not the right one. The incision is totally closed. I put a bandaid over it yesterday so the bra does not irritate it going forward. If concerned, you can message your WLS team. I'm messaging my team today. When I saw them last week for the one week follow up, they said my incisions looked great. I actually asked for more glue to be added since my bra was rubbing against the left one. Honestly, I wear a bra as little as possible at home due to the rubbing, but must wear it when leaving home.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
