Flappy tummy

Recommended Posts

I’m 7 months out from my sleeve surgery. My lower tummy is really loose & has started flapping against my body any time I walk fast, jump, dance (like in my kitchen to my favorite music, not anything strenuous), etc. I’m getting really embarrassed at the slapping sound that’s happening now. I was looking into shape wear like Spanx but I didn’t know if that would help my situation. Can I get some advice? Thanks ladies! 😊

Spanks would totally help- they compress the body. Be sure to use powder or antiperspirant between/ beneath skin folds to avoid rashes and discomfort. Grats on your weight loss!

When you go for doctors appointments have them document how that extra skin affects your quality of life, or any rash you get...that's what you need for insurance to pay for a panniculectomy...then when the time comes...have it surgically removed. In the meantime, Spanx or any kind of compression garment can help keep it under control. Congratulations on your progress!

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the feedback. I still have Spanx from my wedding that I have packed up somewhere. I'll give those a go before dropping money on more just in case they still fit! And thanks for the encouragement! 😀

High waist-ed anything really helps to keep stuff in place an IN...particularly high waist-ed jeans because of the stiffer fabric.

My insurance covers tummy tuck/skin removal of the stomach. Not sure what other areas. I have my Dr appt this month to check it out. Not super bad, but I wasn't having the weight loss surgery to still have low self esteem with the excess skin. Check with your insurance.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
