Vitamin Patches?

Recommended Posts

The reason your nutritionist said not due is most likely due to the fact that the studies on them are still in progress. The only finished study I found said that B12 and D3 were still low after those. I am trying the Patches but am also taking oral D3 and B12 with this information known.

Edit:
I only bought a 1 month supply (before surgery) but never used them so I am only using htem while waiting on some bariatric pills to ship in. I am working on still taking pills to cover the Vitamins as they have a lot higher rate of absorption and have more studies already done on them without deficiencies.

They seem to work for some but not for others, so I've never tried them. I'm afraid I'd be one of the ones they won't work for, and then i'd have to deal with some Vitamin deficiency. I wasn't willing to take the risk.

I totally agree, I think I'll stick to what the nutritionist said.. Any favorites? I'm hoping to find some that taste decent. Thanks!:)

yea - I was thinking they might be helpful if I'm ever traveling abroad or something. It'd just be a temporary thing so not much damage done if I'm not one who absorbs much from Patches - and it would alleviate having to lug a bunch of pills with me on trips..

I just take my Multivitamins in regular tablet form now (and have been ever since I was about a year out), so taste really isn't an issue anymore. But back when I was doing chewables, I'd pick up either Centrum chewable or (usually..) the generic equivalent at Walgreens or CVS. You have to take two of them a day to meet our Multivitamin requirements, though (well, same with regular tablets - I take two a day)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
