stall #2 found me!!

Recommended Posts

Well here I am, sneaking around trying to hide from the stalls and #2 found me anyway. I am exercising my butt off (literally), and tracking my food, keeping my Protein numbers high and calories around 750 tops, my Water intake is around 90 ounces and stall number 2 found me and has kept me hostage for 7 days and counting. I intend on measuring myself this weekend in hopes of seeing inches be gone but holy hell that scale is about to go through the window. My husband thought he hid it from me (like I cannot open the bottom closet in the bathroom and move the towels around), but I still find it every morning and cuss it out under my breath.

I am really bummed out about the numbers right now, and I know I need to get over it. My daughter is 27 years old and has two beautiful baby girls 24 months and 12 months, she is a diabetic (type 1) and recently told she is needing a kidney transplant. Guess who is the closest match, ME. We have a long way to go before we are ready for the transplant so I cannot get to ahead of myself but I will need to be on a low protein diet at that point and it is going to be a huge change in my world again. Had I known that was going be coming it may have be a factor in my decision about WLS. I know whats done is done but I really wish I was closer to my goal weight and just healthy and strong and ready to move to the next challenge.

It is a no brainer in my world as if one of my children needed my heart I would give it to them but Lordy let the scale move tomorrow so I don't have to fix a window before we have a blizzard this weekend!!! My nerves are shot and I don't need this in my world this week!!!!!

I'm so sorry to hear your daughter isn't well. Thank goodness she has such a caring mother.

This may not at all be what you want to hear, but we're very close in surgery date: after almost doubling my calories up to my program's limit when I stalled in week 3, my weight has been flying off at even better speed (I seriously couldn't tell you how this works, but it does).

Again, not saying upping the cals would work for you, but any kind of change might be interesting to look into, just to jolt your body back into fat melting mode?

I will give it a try because I am ready for good news on the scale!!! The last stall I had to up the calories a bit to get it going again as well, I don't understand it but it worked so I will try it again. I almost feel guilty when I do that? I also feel kind of crummy physically when I up the calories but at this point I am really ready to try anything!

you'll hit several stalls on your journey. I just stuck to my program and stayed off the scale as much as I could (I was kind of addicted to the scale as well, so easier said than done!). My weight loss always started up again. But yes - it's aggravating.

I had a couple of stalls. I just stuck to my program like Catwoman7 did & the weight would start to drop again. Give your body a break. It’s going through a lot. Put the scales away for a few days if it’s frustrating you & breathe. Remember stalls are very, very common.

I’m sorry about your daughter’s health but you will be in a much better position to help her with your weight loss than if you didn’t have weight loss surgery. Your health would have been more likely to be compromised by donating your kidney if you were at your old weight or they may have ruled you out as a candidate because of your size. Losing the weight will be of benefit to you & your daughter & it likely is a very fortunate decision you made.

Good wishes to you both.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
