I’m on Day 7 of my Pre-op liquid diet and about two days ago started breaking out on my face really bad. It hasn’t been this bad since puberty 😩 is this common? is it all the toxins being flushed out?

if so, Im thinking it’ll clear up soon. there’s only so much greasy toxins that can come out- i’ve been strictly only liquids and taking this whole process extremely serious. praying for the best!

You know, now that I think of it, I did have a bout of acne early on...though I think mine happened around the 1-2 month mark, lasted for a month or so (I remember because I have xmas pics to prove it, lol).

I can't really say what the reason behind it was, but the whole toxin/hormone release during rapid fat loss would make sense...

Congrats on your upcoming surgery, though!

Good Luck ❤️

That's interesting. I don't remember that. But like you said it could be toxins flushing out.

Try witch hazel over the counter and use it as an astringent. I have PCOS and break out in horrible hormonal acne monthly. It is the only thing that really helps me. I notice I get results just after 1 night use. Hope it works for you! And it’s really inexpensive!

that’s what i’m thinkin’ 🤷🏻‍♀️ it makes me a little self conscious but it’s okay- just reminding myself this is only temporary and part of a much bigger plan 😌

Thank you♥️♥️

On the bright side, since we’re all pandemic-ally holed up these days, you’ll be all cleared up by the time its all over ❤️

I think it would have been nice to do all my weight loss during lockdown/semi-lockdown, lol. I’m semi-bitter that Im smaller now with a bunch of cute clothes I can’t wear cuz i have nowhere to go. 😂

I’m 68, and I am 5 almost 6 weeks post surgery. I recently noticed that across my shoulders and over the edge of the tops of my arms has what I call “underground pimples”!! So you all think it’s out with the bad, and in with the good, eh? Hope you’re right, it feels terrible, almost like a rash it’s so bumpy. Not sore, just bumpy. Wow! At 68!

I think toxins & or hormones may be the culprits too. Fat stores a lot of stuff, like oestrogen, & as you lose the fat it’s released into your blood stream. Some women say they have cycles that are heavier, prolonged or more painful because of the flush of oestrogen into their bodies. I was menopausal so my hot flushes disappeared for a while - whoo hoo! Lol!

Good luck in your journey. The pimples now will be so worth it when you’ve lost your weight. 😁

update: i had my pre-op appointment today- doc said my breakout on face wouldn't be from my body releasing toxins but maybe anxiety or stress with the upcoming procedure 🤷🏻‍♀️ he offered me a script for some acne cream so i took that. i haven't been this broke out...idk ever lol! everything looks great he said- lost ten pounds since last wednesday and right on track. he even took a look at my liquid tracking in my notebook and 👌🏼 said i'm good to go. i have one more appt on friday with my surgeon and then my covid test. I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
