Diet from program includes bread for breakfast and lunch anyone else

Recommended Posts

I think for me it is difficult because I was never a huge bread, potato or rice eater. I also did not feel heard nor comfortable with my NUT. I have now incorporated Keto friendly carbs and every other day almonds in my diet. My weight lose has not increased meaning I am still averaging about 1 kilo per week. I workout 6 days a week. I am still looking for ways to improve my weight speed but am also trying not to allow myself to become too frustrated by this.

I'm 6 months post endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty and have only had 1/2 bun and two slices of Aldi low carb bread in those 6 month. I would think if you need to up your carbs, it would be best to eat some fresh fruit or veggies.

My program is moderate on carbs. Once I was released to eat anything their target was 50-80g a day. Any one of the balanced meals my nutritionist suggested was 1 slide whole grain bread, egg, and yogurt.

At around 9 months the target moved to up to 100g a day and most days I stay under that. They allow whole grain breads, etc.. although I generally try to get my carbs from unprocessed sources: Vegetables, etc... I do occasionally eat rice, sweet potato's etc... but try to limit as they are higher calorie and if I'm not careful they do kick off cravings.

Is it crazy to say I will eat whatever is best to ensure I am successful. With my NUT there was no other options per day I should eat two moment of fruit plus bread, crackers, rice or potatoes with each meal. I am currently still only able to eat 80 grams of meat with each meal and I am full. When I eat vegetables I then only can consume half the meat. I eat my yoghurt and drink Protein Shakes and my 80 oz of Fluid per day. I have no room for much else. Even the cracker and almonds I cannot do everyday and not with each meal. I know every plan is different and every body is different. I am still looking for the one that is right for me.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
