I have my last appointment with my nutritionist on Oct 16 and my surgeon on Oct 20. I'm hoping for a November date as well.

Hi, fellow November sleevers... Was just wondering what all of your pre-op diets look like. Mine is 10 days, and thankfully has some food... Not nearly enough [emoji1787] but some is better than none, I guess. I start on the 24th, I think, and have told those who know what I'm doing (I'm keeping it somewhat on the down low for various reasons) that I may not be the most pleasant person to be around. Mine is two weeks of liquid diet. I tried it twice so far to find some stuff I liked and it wasn't too bad. I don't know how several days of it will be like. I go in for my appt 9/22.

I know its a few months away but I thought I would start a thread for Nov 2020! My date is 11/9! Looking forward to starting my new journey, hoping Covid doesn't screw stuff up!

I have one more nutritionist visit and then the insurance authorization, I should be middle to late November!

I'm hoping that I get bumped up to November. My last appointment is with my dietitian next week. Then every thing goes to the insurance company. I'm excited and scared.

Any fellow Nov sleevers care to share their pre-op diet? My surgeon just told me to lose 10 lbs before surgery, however in the paperwork it says 10-14 days clear liquid diet with foods, drinks and sample menus. I’ve got an upcoming appointment with the dietician where I’m sure I’ll get clarity. I was just wondering what everyone else was doing, or if you even knew.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
