34 Days Post Op eating trouble (Phase 4 )

Recommended Posts

I'm having some serious trouble knowing what to eat and keeping anything aside from juice (sugar free)
Or flavored water (Crystal Light) Down. Anything else makes my pouch undulate in a weird way and automatically i feel ill.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what I .. could try for stage 4?

I can't eat anything really, not even mashed potatoes. My Doctors have only pushed liquids and I'm even having trouble with Protein Shakes.
They seem to just dismiss me when I say something's wrong.

Maybe your pouch just isn’t ready for that stage. Or maybe your pouch doesn’t like the brand of Protein you are giving it.
It’s. Ok to stay in stage 3 for a little bit longer.

your stomach may just not be ready to move on. If this evolves into vomiting everything up, though, let your clinic know. That could be indicative of a stricture, which they'll need to fix. You're in the right time frame for it (they usually occur 1-3 months after surgery). But for now, I'd just hold off moving to stage 4 and see if that helps....again, it could just be your stomach isn't quite ready to move on yet.

I cant do crystal light too bitter tasting. The shakes dont sit well for me either. Did your nutritionist not give you a handout for stage 4? The program book they gave me has list of foods and meal examples. I am still in purees. You could try going back a stage until you make an appointment with your dietician to get her advice.

Try Premier Protein it comes in a Mango flavor that is not a shake. It is like a juice.

I have three cases that I will donate if anyone wants it. I used these during my pre-op diet, but can’t tolerate the taste since surgery.

Update for those wondering: I spoke to my doctor and turns out they needed to take a look at my gallbladder. Seems like there's something in there. They described it at a 'sludge'.

I'm a bit worried at this point now???
I've never had anything wrong with my gallbladder before.

Edit: I'm now hosting to various pains from my abdomine shooting through to my side and spinal cord. They're like little pinches. It's.. very strange. I didn't know things like this could happen up to a month out. I thought I was just having some trouble adjusting to eating. I'm kind of scared now.

It's common that gallbladder issues occur after WLS. Some Surgeons even remove them as part of WLS to side step the problem altogether.

Try to stay in communication with your Team about any worsening symptoms so they are aware and can act quickly.

Good Luck ♥️

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
