Hi, I havent been able to meet anyone in the area going through the same thing as me. I am 42 years old and having a gastric bypass on 9/14. Whats everyone's else's story?20200808_225425.jpg

Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app

Lived there for many years (still have family there), but I left 32 years ago. But I just wanted to say hi! To be honest, most of my support has been online (on this and other bariatric forums). My clinic does have a support group (or did before COVID - not sure what's going on NOW), but I haven't been in a long time. I visit internet forums at least once a day, though. It keeps my head in the game...

Hi I'm in NC. I live in Salisbury, it is approximatly 40miles N. of Charlotte. I will be having my surgery in Concord. I am currantly waiting on insurance approval. They said it could take up to 2 weeks, so I'm not sure when my actual surgery date is? I hope all is going good for you. Keep us posted.

I'm in NC. I live in the Winston-Salem area and had surgery in Kernersville. Surgery on Sept. 21st. There's a support group, but they meet in-person and I'm in lockdown. So this is my primary support group.

I know my doctors' main office is in Charlotte. I see Dr. Bauman, at his office in Concord. They have been so wonderful there. I hope things are going good for you. I guess I am most concerned about the first 4 to 6 wks. I think once I get thru those couple of wks I'll feel a little more at ease as fas as complications go. I am just nervous. You know what all we go thru to get to a surgery date, and then now that i am waiting on insurance approval...I'm nervous as can be.

I uses Dr. Barbat, great doctor at Atrium. I love the office, everyone is so great to work with. The only thing I wish they have is the support groups but they are canceled due to covid. I am so excited to meet someone near me.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
