Weight gain post revision

Hi all,

I had my sleeve revised to bypass on Monday, 8/31. I am 4 days in and weigh more than I did on surgery day. Is this still surgical fluids? I’m following my Stage 1 plan to the letter and frustrated.

Yes, Fluid retention. I weighed ten pounds more coming home than going in. Be patient and all will be well!

It sure is! I lost 9 lbs on my pre-op diet and gained all 9 lbs back with less than 24 hrs in the hospital. I asked my doctor about it and he said they give their patients extra Fluid so you don't get dehydrated when you go home. It took me about a week to lose it.

I went in for my revision on 8/11 weighing 212 and at my week post op on 8/19 I weighed 215. I know it was from Fluid because I got 6+ bags of IV fluids in the 4 days post op in the hospital.
