Its depressing tbh. ...i know this is what i want but damn lol..whys it so hard 😩 i scroll through pinterest looking at soft food for the next stage ..it makes me excited. You are so not alone. I'm 4.5 weeks out and that restricted diet was the HARDEST part of this journey by far(and I threw up continuously for the first 18hrs post surgery). But looking back now, it went by quickly. I just tried to focus on some self exploration concerning head hunger and how I used food for comfort, etc etc. Not saying I've got it all figured out, but I tried to use my sadness/depression/longing time in a positive way I guess? It gave me some insight. Also, it just sucks. It's the trenches. But you can do it! Stay positive and focused! It really will be over before you know it.

Ricotta bake definitely fits into the "soft food" stage! It is amazing -- the first thing I got to eat that seemed like "real food." I divide one recipe into 8 pieces. Ricotta bake was my dinner for two straight weeks when I reached the soft food stage. I started adding half an ounce of canned chicken mixed with a tablespoon of marinara sauce.

I live alone, so I am fortunate not to be around other people eating food all the time. I don't know how people do it when they have to watch their families eat. I've just had one hard experience at work where my boss bought lunch for the department to reward my team for a job well done, and it was a food I love but couldn't eat. It was even more difficult because I don't want anyone at work to know I had WLS, so I had to get rid of it without anyone knowing and pretend that I ate it. It was so tough to have something delicious right in front of my face and know that I couldn't eat it, so I feel for you. I do think it gets a little easier once you're past the liquid stage and can eat something resembling real food, things you can chew. Stay strong and look forward to your delicious ricotta bake!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
