MAY 2020 Sleevers

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Just thought I'd check in and see how everyone is going now that we are at, or coming up to our 3 month surgery anniversary.

CONGRATULATIONS!

How is everyone feeling? Anyone having any issues?

I'm doing pretty well, coming up to 12 weeks next week and terrified of the dreaded 3 month stall!

I had mine June 9th and don't feel like I've lost much. Down 33 lbs since the week before surgery. How is your weightloss?

actually, the infamous one is the three *week* stall, so you're past it! (most of us do experience occasional stalls along the way, so you may very well have one at the three month mark, but it's the three week one that's really predictable...)

That is amazing! My surgery was May 21st too. I am only down 31 lbs. It is coming off slooooowly for me. But I hope to be under 160 lbs next week...we'll see.

I feel great. I've read a lot of sleevers have acid reflux after the surgery, but mine is gone... I didn't realize how bad I had acid reflux until after the surgery and hiatal hernia repair.

I got my blood work done and everything is normal besides low HDL ("good cholesterol") and I had elevated ALT levels ---which are enzymes in the liver. I googled around and saw that an elevated ALT number in sleevers is common though. I have my 3 month post-op appointment in 2 weeks. I will see what the Doc says about that ALT number, but I am not concerned about it right now.

that's really common with both surgeries. Rapid weight loss is really tough on livers. Your ALT number should go back down once you're at or near goal and the weight loss slows down.

Yes!! I’ve been wondering how you are sleever twin! I haven’t had much reflux, luckily but I do burp when I’m full all the time (very lady like 😂) I still have a long way to go to goal but I’m trying not to think too far ahead. Just did a big wardrobe clean out of clothes I’ll never wear again. Gets addictive, soon I’ll have nothing to wear 😂🤣

Thanks. Hopefully it won't take too long to level out. I am glad all my other numbers are in range... besides the "good cholesterol" -- which I don't think I've ever had in range... I doubt I ever will. I did eat some avocado 🥑 today though.

Good to see you! I got rid of the burping about one month out. Maybe it will go away for you - in time? I need to do a clothing purge too! I might do that this weekend!! I've been told to not buy clothing during this time since I will be constantly changing sizes. I just want all the weight gone so I can shopping and buy new clothes!🤣

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
