Starving or stomach acid causing issues?

If you are feeling genuine hunger once are onto solid foods this will help reduce the feeling as the solid food will cause more restriction (and it will tell the brain you have had sufficient calories).

I actually envy you. I am 9 weeks postop and I yet to have develop an appetite. Nothing looks good, smells good or tastes good. I am forcing myself to eat every day and I barely get 2 ounces in. I so wish I had an appetite.

Heyyy!

I'm about 23 days out from surgery. I had VSG too...one thing I wanted to say was to be sure you're not feeling gas. For me, hunger pangs AND gas pains were the same feeling lol...weird right? But for me mashed potatoes helped a lot, that ricotta bake recipe is pretty good too & made me feel like i was actually eating! Things will be better soon! I had a really hard time my first week or so due to my emotions being CRAZY and me not being able to wrap my head around that I physically cannot eat the foods I've always loved.

Have you tried Protein Soups? How about protein hot chocolate? I find that warm liquids go down a little more easily than cold. I got some protein hot chocolate from the BariatricPal Store that is really good. It tastes like normal hot chocolate, no weird protein taste.

Hi,
I had my surgery on the 14th as well. I cant really stomach anything either. I haven't gotten in my liquids or Proteins on any day. I can't do Protein Shakes or anything artificially sweetened. I finally went to the hospital tonight and got an IV. They took xrays and said everything looked fine. I'm just hoping this feeling stops soon.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
