Hi All! I’m having a revision on August 10th. I originally had gastric bypass September 2013 and was successful at losing 150lbs. Over the last 2 years I started gaining. I found out it was due to the opening from my stomach to my intestines fully opening and nothing staying in my pouch. My pouch is still it’s original size. I’ve gained 80lbs though I’ve tried my darnedest to do everything I could. And now I feel just disgusted with myself. I’ve been on a liquid diet and I haven’t lost even a pound in Water.
Now I’m worried a revision will not help. Does anyone have any experience with this? (I’ve put a call into my Dr but didn’t hear back from him) I would love to hear from anyone who has had a revision..thank you!!!

re: revision - do you mean they're going to tighten the stoma? I've heard mixed results - but hopefully techniques have continued to improve.

I’m in the same boat. I went to my 1 week follow up after my liquid diet and I actually GAINED 2-5 pounds! Talk about discouraged. I’m hoping and praying that it’s just Water retention, but I’m going to do my best and become more active after I heal.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
