Its been a LONG process but I have my date. I will be joining the looser bench on June 30th. I have had mixed emotions after getting my date. I keep asking myself I am making a good decision. Did anyone else feel this way?

I am day 8 and I had those omg what did I do moments but then I realized I HAD to do this. There are things in life we don’t necessarily want, but need all the same. I had/have PCOS and my doctor told me there was pretty much no chance to lose the weight without surgery. I am down 15.5 lbs and already look at food differently.

I counted down everyday waiting I couldn't get the surgery done soon enough I only wish I had done it years earlier.

It's the best choice don't stress about it.

No you are alone! Really there is not one person on this forum who was not nervouse and questioning there decision! No you are normal. For me and most of members it was the best decision we ever made

Congratulations! Best, Best, Best decision I’ve made! And Yes, I questioned myself many times over it, but had tried, tried, tried and finally, IT WAS TIME!

I think almost every one of us went through that "What the hell am I about to do to myself" phase, followed by the "What the hell did I DO to myself" phase. You are about to have major life changing surgery so you would have to be a rock not to have some emotions about it. Excitement and fear aren't very far apart on the spectrum, so you'll feel both at the same time!

Good luck--YOU GOT THIS!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
