June 23rd! Had to wait 6 months to be cleared by insurance. They scheduled my appointment when I went in for my consultation back in November.

Just found this site and am super pumped! My surgery is on the 23rd of June and I am having a gastric bypass. I can't wait to be on the other side of surgery and get off these Optifast shakes, but it is so worth it!

Omg just checked my insurance website. I was approved!! I am so excited!!! Began this journey in June 2019. Surgery delayed due to covid19. NYC was hit so hard. My main focus was to stay safe despite normal feelings of disappointment. Surgery 6/29/2020. I am sooooooo delighted. The time is always right.

Also just for context, Mypaperwork was submitted on Monday, took 2 days to be approved.

Girl I’m telling you! I can’t wait until the eggs and cheese stage!

One of my favorite foods - I had seen a very good surgeon say his patients tended to have trouble with scrambled eggs even weeks into surgery (although fried or poached eggs were easier for them). I guess we will find out soon enough!

Yes , June 30th and I’m on liquid diet right now and OMG I’m having headaches 🙈 coffee withdrawals

I get migraines... so my dietitian told me I can still drink a cup of regular coffee in the mornings to keep them at bay without medication.

Just had my gastric sleeve on June 15th. I guess I’m lucky, had no problems with the anesthesia and gas. Up and walking soon after surgery. No problems whatsoever.

Im a little sore on my stomach where the largest incision was made, but other than that I’m good to go.

Hope all goes well for the rest of you.

One week post Bypass and I'm allowed to add eggs, hummus, cottage cheese, mashed Beans and yogurt to my liquids. I ate an egg this morning. It was DELICIOUS. No problem. And I've been queasy in the past. Hope they go well for you!

Covid test came back negative. Pre op and blood typing done. Now, how to deal with my anxiety over this until Monday....

Gastric Sleeve 08th June, it had been postponed from March due to Covid.

Two days in hospital due to nausea from general anaesthetic (I always have that post surgery).

No pain at all really, even had to drive (be driven) for 9 hours home.

Not able to put much into myself at the moment and not sure how normal that is. The first few days it was literally a few sips of juice/milk. A little over a week out and I can finish a Boost Protein drink over the course of the day and half a cup of cream Soup. I have tried some thinned applesauce but that isn't sitting too well.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
