Elevated Pulse- 6 days post op

Recommended Posts

I had the sleeve 6 days ago (02/24). I’ve had elevated heart rate every day since. Ranging between 90-120 resting and 145 when Im up and around. My usual resting HR before surgery was occasionally elevated so I’m not sure if I should be concerned. I don’t have any shortness of breath but I do get easily fatigued when trying to walk around, this as well I guess could be due to the fact that I just had surgery. Anyone deal with something similar?

Dehydration and low electrolytes can cause elevated heart rate. That being said, I'd definitely call your doctor in the morning. Good luck!

Your body is healing from surgery. Not uncommon for heart rate to be up. Add dehydration to the mix and it is more likely. And fatigue is VERY normal post op. Hang in there, get your fluids in as best as you can. If you are still concerned, check in with your doctor.

Totally covered above - But try drinking some pedi lite and drown yourself in Water. You just shocked the hell out of your body and your mind is all over the place starting this journey, if course the ticker is running a little faster.

Also you can take a 80mg asprin see if that helps -

No, please don't take aspirin or at least not before checking with your surgeon!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
