Balloon procedure 3 weeks ago and still feel sick

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I got the procedure done 3 weeks ago in Mexico. I’m back in the States and still feeling very full and nauseous all the time. I’m vomiting every evening before going to bed. I started with the liquid diet for a week, then the bland diet, but now had to go back to the liquid cause my stomach can’t take anything else. Has anyone had this problem? Does it last for much longer? Any tips on how to handle it? Any input would be greatly appreciated! **I've lost 15 lbs so far.

sorry to hear that - yikes! I don't think the balloon procedure is very common yet, at least not the U.S., but hopefully there will be someone on here who's had it who may have some insight. Sorry you're going through this - that sounds miserable!

It's not uncommon to experience some discomfort and nausea after a balloon procedure, as your stomach and digestive system adjust to the changes. However, if your symptoms are persistent and severe, or if you are vomiting frequently, it's important to contact your surgeon or healthcare provider for further evaluation and guidance. They may be able to provide additional recommendations or medications to help alleviate your symptoms.

It's also worth mentioning that every person's experience can be different, so what works for one person may not work for another. You may need to try different strategies or adjustments to your diet and lifestyle to find what works best for you.

In general, it's important to take things slowly and not try to push your body too hard too soon. Gradually increasing the types and textures of food you're eating as your stomach adjusts. Drinking enough Water, eating small and frequent meals, and avoiding foods that are high in fat and sugar can also help. And if you feel like you need some help, don't hesitate to reach out to your surgeon or healthcare provider for guidance.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
