5 days in,should I be on multivitamin

Recommended Posts

I'm 5 days post op,I had mines done in turkey, within 1 week of inquiring I had the op which I paid £3000,I had a translator but haven't been advised anything about Protein Drinks or Multivitamin, in hospital they had me nil by mouth 2 days then arrives with glass Soup made from the bone of meat and some sort of Syrup cold mixture, both hardly palatable, today I bought Multivitamins because it doesn't seen feesable to go a full month almost with Water and those 2 things on the menu,I've added sugar free jelly or Jello as USA say that's really almost not set and really helps the water intake because it's flavoured,am I breaking all the rules and destined to fail,or do you need a wee bit of common sense to replace things you can't palate,I'm Irish not turkish so not overly keen on turkish food, but I'm living here now till next year because it has a warmer winter we're I can be more active outdoors,

Let common sense be your guide.

Which procedure did you have?

Are you aware of which forms of Vitamins and minerals to take and which are most readily absorbed?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
