I’m going to a Halloween party next week and I want to have fun but don’t want to drink alcohol or eat .How can I enjoy the party without food or drink. I’m trying to loose weight before my pre op November 12

Prepare you're own meal like a Protein Shake or some peanuts or some berries or anything that's healthy I went thru 9 weeks diet myself with surgery tomorrow.

You have to be strong and committed to this process if youre going to have any success post op ;)

Definitely eat before you go and bring your own Protein snack or something in your purse or pocket to snack on if you get hungry during the party. Drink Water or diet coke.

Always be prepared with you own Snacks and beverages. Never go any where hungry and without your own healthy resources. Holiday season is upon us. This is when we can really shine! Everyone else gains weight and we take it off!! You have to make a predetermined plan before and event and stick with it. Each event is only a small blip of time. You get through them one at a time.

Great advice above.

If this is a potluck type party, take Deviled eggs. meat, cheese, veggie and fruit tray.

Absolutely! Offer to bring some goodies/food, and you are set!

Great advice here. Especially since the holidays are now upon us with one food event after the next. I'm still working on my own plans - December in particular is a food fest here in the office with people bringing in food every single day. We don't have a full-on Thanksgiving meal this year with the family so that is one benefit. However, that means I have to cook at least a turkey breast for my hubby, along with stuffing, mashed potatoes, etc. Maybe I can negotiate some of those high calorie sides for some low calorie veggies.

Wondering what everyone else is planning?

Yeah Thanksgiving and Christmas are going to be hard watching everyone eat .but at least we’ll be on our way to being healthy

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
