I just broke a 3 week stall yesterday. I know it gets frustrating but keep doing what you are doing.

Do stalls happen frequently to people after surgery? I'm thinking it would freak me out.

Yes, they do for sure. Don't let it freak you out- it is totally normal.

It is your body adjusting to rapid weightloss. Expect and try to accept stalls as part of your process. (It's hard, I know!) It means you have lost enough weight that your body is taking a pause, but it is not a stopping place.

When stalls do happen double check to make sure you are doing the basics like tracking calories, getting enough macros and Water in etc. If those things are all on point, try to relax and know that this too shall pass... and you will be moving that scale number lower again before you know it. :)

Thanks @FluffySaysForkIt!! That makes me feel better. Kind of like hitting a plateau when dieting then. You just kind of make sure you're doing what you are supposed to, maybe up the Water you're drinking and wait. It doesn't last forever. Okay, I can deal with that. Thanks again!

I'm in a pre-op stall right now. I'm tracking all my food and eating between 1000-1300 calories a day, drinking lots of Water and getting Protein in. I'm wondering if maybe I need to up to 1500 calories a day? For reference, I'm almost 5'10 and still over 300... It's been about 10 days this time (second stall since July)...

I just had surgery on October 21 but I’m already in my first stall! I’ve lost 18lbs since I started this journey. It’s so frustrating although the doctor says it’s completely normal 😳

I went through a stall as well and I am 3 weeks pre op. I found that switching up my exercises, getting at least 8 hours of sleep, and drinking more Protein Shakes ramped me up and put me back in fifth gear. For example, if you walk trails, jog/ run/ sprint for 60 seconds and repeat when you get enough wind. Or, if you do the elliptical or treadmill, increase the intensity. The key is tricking your body by getting your heart rate up. Start moving!! I know you’ll see results and get out of the 200s very rapidly!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
