Ok so sorry if tmi but does anybody else have an obese FUPA( fat upper pubic area) I mean my va jay jay might look like a chubby alien I dunno. Oh well it doesn't seem to bother my husband any I just wish I had an attractive vagina not some juhbba the hutt lookin lifeform down there lol. Does anyone know if the skin removal aka panni covers that pubic area too? I plan on making an appointment soon as I'm 3+yrs post op RNY with a baby in between so I'm ready to get rid of this extra skin! Also any tips to help get insurance to cover just a panni? I'm pretty sure mine won't cover arns, breasts or anything else but a panni(and hopefully FUPA is a good start) Thanks in advance!

I believe a lot of surgeons do a mons lift when they do a Tummy Tuck

I don't know about just a panni but if you get a lower body lift (where they do panni, butt lift, etc), most surgeons do include a mons lift.

That is part of a panniculectomy, removing the apron of skin plus it can be a requirement for insurance to cover. My ins. wanted pics that showed the pannis hanging below the pubic area.

And.....not tmi, most people have a pannis after losing a ton of weight

I had an Inverted T Tummy Tuck (fleur de lis) and this was part of that procedure 😊

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
