Before and After Lap Band Surgery - PICTURES ONLY

Recommended Posts

Every one looks so good! I am so inspired by everyone on this board. I look at this thread everyday to keep my spirits up and to know I can lose my last 40 lbs.

Since I haven't taken body shots in awhile, I thought I would post my progress pics. The first pic was taken 2 years ago at my highest weight ever of 257lbs. I was 239lbs at surgery, which is the inset pic of just the head shot. I am at 167lbs currently, down 90lbs from my highest ever, and down 72lbs since surgery in May.

Thanks for the help Suzzzie. I hope this works. The pictures in the blue shorts were taken a few days after I started the pre-op diet, towards the end of Sept 07, 290lbs. And the others were taken Jan 27, 2008 (last night) Haven’t been to the Dr. for a few weeks so I am not 100% on my current weight but the home scale says 247lbs for a 43lbs loss.

Here are my 2 month progress photos. This is the first I have posted... obviously, since I have only been banded two months today. I can see some difference, but not too drastic. I have lost 50 pounds from my max of 400.

Still have a LONG way to go to be 210... but its getting closer each day!

Before is on top and current is on bottom. Same shorts.

I love looking through old pictures and being totally shocked at how big I REALLY was.

First pic is from 7/06 (appx 250). Second pic is from 12/08 (appx 160). Since I don't have the same clothes, I figured I'd at least use the same girl!!!

Currently I'm 151...6 lbs from goal.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
