Did you also quit caffeine? That gives a lot of people headaches. Good luck!

It's part and parcel of the diet.

The headache was probably the hardest part the liquid diet for me. I promise it will pass though

I had a headache for a week after starting my pre-op diet. It was hard to get through but finally stopped. I was dizzy too and just out of it overall. I had numerous people tell me it was carb withdrawal. I did a bunch of research and there is all sorts of info online about it. Some names of it are ‘ Keto flu’ and ‘ carb withdrawal’. I am 7 days into my month long pre-op and my biggest problem is that i am soooo hungry. It is making me soooo nervous that if I have this surgery and am still hungry I don’t know how I will do it! I need some advice for sure.

I still get hungry sometimes, but I have to spend a long time thinking about if I am really hungry or just feel like eating something. My restriction is so strong at 8 months that a couple of low-fat cheese sticks or a yogurt is enough to totally fill me up until the next meal.

I remember it as hypoglycemia feeling like going from eating high carbs and sugar to none was a shock to the system... But after a few days of high Protein I felt better and if you eat protein first in every meal you will get full quicker. Some days I don't even feel like eating on the preop

KEEP UP your Fluid intake, wash the Keto byproducts away and l8ke a lot of Us You Too will make it through. it's like Your Body is complaining "WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO ME?", but be strong , keep your commitment up and Someday you'll remember and say " Hey it's a Tiny Blip in My Road but I DID make it through!"

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
