I begin my 2 week diet next Monday in the 2nd. He said shake at breakfast, shake at lunch, and a low carb dinner of lean Protein and non starchy veggies. This is so going to suck but I know will be worth it. Anyone else have a job that's labor intensive and did this. How did you get through it? What kind of shakes did yall find to work best?

I start the exactly same diet on Friday. Well, for a week at least. Then I have week of 5 Protein Drinks + 64 ounces of Water every day for the 2nd week.😭
Every time I’ve had to do this type of diet, what really seems to help me is staying busy. Reading, surfing the web, anything to keep my mind off what I’m not eating.
We’ll get through it! Like the saying goes, if you wanna get something, you gotta give something.
Best of luck!

I used Slim Fast only because my 2 week was pure shakes and chicken broth. My dr wanted me on Lower Protein so i could consume more as his max was 100 a day.. so that allowed me to have 5-6 shakes a day if i was feeling hungry. His was no food at all for the 2 weeks.

I like the Premier Protein shakes. My plan was 2 shakes and a Lean Cuisine type frozen diet meal for dinner. If we got too hungry we could do 1 shake and 2 frozen meals. I did the 1 shake and 2 frozen meals for my prep and my liver was fine.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
