Tummy Tuck 8/21

Can't wait to get my TT next month. I have my pre-op appointment this Friday morning. I'm still on the fence if I'm just gonna do a Tummy Tuck or go with the fleur-de-lis procedure. The surgeon said I might be happier to get rid of some of the laxity around the mid section and go with the fleur-de-lis. It adds $600 to the price which is not a big deal in the grand scheme of things. I just don't know if I want a scar going up the middle of my body to my breastbone.?‍♂️ The good news is the doc does not recommend tightening my ab muscles because he said they should be in pretty good shape and that's where most of the pain and longer term discomfort comes from.
Anyhow, I'd like to hear from people who had either procedure done. I'll be staying with my ex mother in law the 1st 2 days and then coming home to take care of myself. My boys will stop in and check on me periodically but other than that I'll be on my own. Is it doable on your own? Honestly that's the part I'm most concerned about.

  • Just got back from my postop! 6 pounds of skin removed which is hard to imagine. I get an "A" from the surgeon on how well I'm doing. I saw my belly button for the first time and he removed the stitch

So today is 5 weeks out from surgery and I could not be happier with the results. Still have some swelling as expected. Overall I'm doing great and feeling good. I can comfortable wear jeans but still having a hard time fitting into my suit pants but that'll ease off as the swelling goes down. I'd do this again in a heartbeat! [emoji106]

How long were you off work? I have a TT and arm lift in November and took 2.5 weeks off.

@mousecat88 I was off 2 1/2 weeks and then worked from home for 2 weeks. I'm glad I was able to work from home... was able to wear joggers and be comfy while I continued to heal.

I'm a little over 11 weeks out and healing really well. More swollen on the left than the right. Extremely happy with the results so far!!

It's totally weird not having my gut or loose skin someones. I was so used to it. I wake up and feel like I'm missing something, go figure. ?‍♂️ Although, it's awesomely nice tucking in shirts and wearing belts without stuffing fat or skin in! Looks fantastic!

Out of curiosity, if you don't mind, how much total did this run you? I'm only 7 weeks out from my DS, but it'll be interesting to know for possible future plans.
