What brand of Vitamins are you taking?! I am on the look out for my vitamins for after surgery (30 days till). Are you using Bariatric brands or just regular store bought brands?

I will be taking Vitamin D, Vitamin B12 sublingual, complete Multivitamin and a Calcium Vitamin .

Does anyone use Nature Made brand?

I use Bariatric Advantage brand. I used them pre-surgery as well. They are expensive but to me it's worth it to have something designed for bariatric patients. Some folks save money by taking Flintstones vitamins 2 times a day. Whatever you do, don't take gummies as they don't provide enough vitamins, at least thats what mu surgeon says.

for multis I've always used Centrum or the generic equivalent (Walgreens and CVS both have generics for that).

the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery publishes a list of vitamin/mineral requirements every few years. I'm guessing Nature Made are OK, but double check this list to make sure Nature Made contains the right amount. You'll have to scroll down a little to see how much you need of each vitamin:

I get the soft chews from GNC

For immediate post surgery I was told to take the gummies, not the pills. That was for the first month. Be sure to ask you doctor about it. The gummies have a small amount of sugar, have less values and dont offer iron. I took one and a half dose daily till my bottle was gone, then switched to pills. Which now, at 7 weeks post op, are still a little hard to take.

I found it difficult to swallow regular vitamins for the first month because of the inflammation in my stomach even if I split them in half. I ended up getting the soft chews and chewables. Gummies were a no no with my surgeon too.

I did chewable Centrums the first couple of months after surgery - then I switched to the regular tablets. I was also told to avoid gummies.

Optisource (for bariatric patients) from Walgreens. Chewable tabs. Cost is about $1/day. I get my labs done next week so I will see how effective this brand is.

Thank you, yes as much as I would like to use the one a day but my surgeon already gave me all the vitamins list I need to get with the daily intakes I will be needing

I just started using Patch Aid Multivitamin patches. So far, so good. We’ll see what my next vitamin panel says.

How are you liking the patch vitamins? I have been looking into them and am very curious. They seem almost too good to be true!

Anyone know a good brand that’s affordable for Calcium Citrate? I bought regular calcium pills but then realized it said carbonate on the nutrition label.
