May 2018 Sleevers Check In Here!

Recommended Posts

Hi May 2018 sleevers! I hope you all are doing well. This year has flown by very quickly. I am down 80 lbs. and have just 20 more to my goal weight. Been following the diet, but am in a bit of a stall...Went to my surgeon my check-up, and he is very happy with my progress, but thinks I am able to lose more. Recommended visiting my nutritionist to see where I can cut calories and/or carbs. Would love to hear how you all are doing...

I feel ok, I did have some sharp burning pain close to one of my incisions. Called my surgeons office and they suggested an ice pack and that helped a whole lot. Also for pain I have oxycodone and 1,000 mg of Tylenol. I still can’t tell when I’m full but I’m definitely not hungry. I have two 30grams of Protein Shakes a day and try to have 64oz of water... Also sugar free popsicles and pho (only the broth) are my faves lol

Each day, you'll feel better. Did you get the Sleeve or the Bypass? Which Protein Powder did you get?

My surgery is May 27 today is the first day of the fast I don’t know which is worse the hunger or the nervousness that grows with each passing day plus I’m type 1 diabetic so it’s a bit tricky to fast.

Doing good, no meds since day of surgery. Have not been sick at all. Lost 20 # prior to surgery and 12 since surgery. Total 32 #. Already gone down size in clothes. Feeling great except getting week at times with low calorie intake. Hanging in there 👍

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
