I had the sleeve done on February 22 of this year. I have had stomach pain on and off but nothing major. They said I have hematomas and the are getting smaller. I did have a small kidney stone which I think it has passed but I think I have a new one. For the last 8 days I have been having issues with keep solid food down. The surgeon said to go on liquids for a week. I go to the Urologist on Monday to see if that could be causing my issues? (pee blood) I have a lot of phlegm no matter what I eat or drink. Any one have any ideas or had the same issue? Help? I'm going on vacation on Wednesday for 2 weeks. Hope it wont be all liquids the whole time.

A bit graphic but when you say phlegm - do you mean slime stuff from your stomach, or from your lungs?

Even 16 months out, if I forget to chew something it sticks a bit in my slender tunny, and then I get “the slimes” where your body makes slimy mucus to help the food passage - but it sometimes is too much and makes the problem worse, so it sort of pops out my mouth. Like vomit, doesn’t taste like vomit though.

if it is phlegm from your lungs, appearing when you cough, I think this would signal a different issue to your doctor...

I chew a lot so I know its not from chewing enough or eat to fast. The slimes are really bad it doesn't matter it happens after one swallow.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
