Had my surgery on Thursday and came home from the hospital yesterday afternoon. The pain is moderate but I was given pain pills for that. However, yesterday and all last night was terrible. Barely could sip enough Water without feeling stuffed and sick. Then I had to try to take my pills with water and that felt terrible. But the sugar free popsical put me over the edge! Took about 3-4 licks and then I started to dry-heave. Then threw up again after trying to take my pain pill later that night. Now I’m currently sitting here this morning just trying to chew my Vitamins. I have no idea how I’m going to get my water in!!!! Help!

It does get better. Hang in there. You've got to keep from getting dehydrated, so keep sipping, sipping, sipping on liquids. Have you tried Crystal Light in your Water or Gatorade Zero? They might go down a little better than plain water.

Rest up and recover. Your body is still healing. Yes, it will get better. Your first step to a healthier you has been completed. Good things are coming your way.

Few of us are prepared for how hard those first post-surgery days are. It really sucks but I promise it is temporary. You will feel normal again in time. Congratulations!

Have you talked with your Dr. about your vomiting situation?

Natures best Isopure zero carb water/drink. It's hydration and Protein all in one. 160 calories. 0 carbs 0 sugar 40 grams protein. It’s not thick like shakes. Texture is like Gatorade. If the flavor is too much add Water to it. Sip slowly. They are at GNC, Vitimine shoppe and Amazon.

The last thing I would want while being nauseous or vomiting is something milky, Clear Protein is a good alternative.☕

Excellent suggestion, codeine usually sickens me before I come close to addiction, so simplify your life.

Thanks GradyCat. I did switch over to crystal light in my water which is making it tolerable. The lemon propel almost made me lose it though!

It is slowly getting better and I know it will be worth it in the end. It was just scary the first day home

I am definitely going to try some of these. I’m able to do 1 Protein Shake a day now but that’s about it. I need more. Still not getting enough Water in though but it’s increased. I didn’t want to call the dr that night with the throwing up because I did not want to end up back in the hospital. I think it was just from trying to get all my medication down. Thankfully the vomiting has stopped.

I definitely have to invest in the clear flavorless Protein Powder

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
