4 days out and major Constipation. Was worried about blowing something with all the straining and pushing. But this has definitely been the most painful part.

It gets better, just takes a little time. Some people here use Miralax at first. I got lucky and never had any problems.

I was told Miralax in the morning and Smooth Move tea at night has been the most successful.

Glycerin suppositories are a miracle. You don't have to swallow any pills or feel quakey in your intestines. Just pop one in and it will melt your hard poo. (Pop it in and then do something for 30 mins like chores or bathing etc). Additionally you can use a squatty potty (around $20 on amazon)

I'm 4 1/2 months out and STILL dealing with this. I drink water...I've done miralax. Trying an additional fiber supplement starting today. Wish me luck!

They told me to do miralax in the morning and Smooth Move tea at night.

I eat yogurt daily and it regulates my bowel movement. If I'm feeling constipated, I double my daily yogurt intake.

I remembered I was constipated on the first week though. The doctor advised me to buy Dulcolax. It does get better though.

I also have trouble with Constipation now. Never had an issue before surgery but it is what it is. I've been taking Aloe pills and that seems to be helping. Sometimes i'll have a BM every 2-3 days.

every 2-3 days is normal for me and I'm still pre-surgery. I'm terrified how bad it will be afterwards!

I had Constipation in the first month after surgery and was a little terrified of that 1st one after surgery. I kept some MOM (milk of magnesia) on hand, just in case. It worked like a charm. Tastes a bit like chalk going down, but desperate times call for desperate measures!

Now, I take some extra fiber every day with some Probiotics. If things aren't moving as they should, I take a Dulcolax at night and that seems to keep me on track, but honestly, since I started the probiotics I haven't needed it.

PS: Years ago, I struggled with chronic constipation. Miralax and Smooth Move Tea are very effective.

I'm fortunate that i've not had theses issues. Only one week out I only took two stool softers. the key for me was walking , fluids, and a cup of Decaf coffee in the morning as it has tanas in it it, it always gets things moving. And fiber Soups, i did like Tomato , strained split pea. I bought some Smooth Move tea , but have not had to use it. I hope everyone gets some relief :)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
