Hi:

I'm hoping that I when I've lost enough weight I will feel attractive enough to want to date. I've been without a man for way too long. I certainly couldn't do it at 324, not yet either at 241, but we'll see how I feel at 160. I might have to wait for Tummy Tuck. Not the end of the world if I don't, but I can almost remember what butterflies in the stomach can feel like. They certainly feel better than alot of "fat" stomach feelings. I was married for twenty years and got divorced two years ago. It's scary to think about when you've only been with one man and even that was a long time ago.

I also want to ice skate again. I haven't skated in 20+ years, but I grew up on a lake. I'm going to try that in January (???)after I've lost 100 pounds.

I want to look for a new job too. I need to make a move before I hit 50 years old. I've been putting that off because of that assumption that fat people are lazy. I've always been a hard worker and I don't want people to make that untrue assumption.

I want to be able to sit on the floor and get myself up without using furniture to crawl over to.

I want to use a regular bath towel instead of a beach towel.

I want to fit comfortably in a bathtub to be able to soak for hours.

I want to be around to play with my grandchildren, though I don't have any yet, and probably won't for five or ten years.

I have a Sister with MS. She has a Daughter with CP. I want to be able to help both of them with physical things when they need it.

Those are some of the things keep me motivated to lose weight.

Good luck to all of you achieving your goals and dreams. I'm on my way to a better me!

Sue

Great thread!!

1. Fit comfortably in an airplane seat and not feel like I am imposing on someone else's space.

2. When I do travel internationally (Asia for example), not to have people point and laugh at me. They are all so skinny, they literally think I am a spectacle.

My list:

1) Shop for clothes in the normal sizes. Why do all plus size shirts have horizontal bands on the bust or the waist?:cry

2) cross my legs like a girl

3) Not sweating on a 70 degree day

4) my kids being able to hug me all the way around not just the front of my stomach

5) shopping at Victoria's Secret-had to throw that in there for the husband!

6) Be able to Water ski again and buy a wet suit that's not from BIGGIRLS.com

7) Not be the fattest chick in the room.

ooohh I could go on and on!

thanks for the thread!

Wow, everybody really opened up and listed some awesome things and reminded me of a few more too... I hope everybodys list comes true!! One big thing I can't believe I left off my list is my car seat. When I bought my Nissan, I had to go check out several cars just to see if my rear end would be comfortable in the drivers seat. But, either way, my hip still digs into the door. So, I can't wait until my left hip doesn't touch the door!! (I have a big rear end!) LOL.

4. Have fun at every amusement park including walking around to sight see.

5. Buy cute clothes

6. No longer live to eat, but eat to live.

7. Be able to run for exercise.

8. More energy to do more fun things.

CoolCrystal, a woman after my own heart! And you know, it was probably our imaginations that we were being 'watched' when it came to food!! ("Paranoia will destroy ya!"

Yep, I hid anything that I thought people would look down on me for buying in the seat, under my purse!!

I am so-o-o glad those days will be behind us! Even though I'm still big, I walk proudly, because I KNOW I've done something about it!

:clap2:

Make33.. no really they WERE looking.. seriously... they were obsessed with my basket.. HA HA.. J/K. Yeah, they probably weren't, but in my little head they were. Just the other day my hubby put a bag of Gummy bears in the basket and since he was going to go sit in the car, I put them under the bag of peas. LOL. Aren't I bad??

I think Dr. Phil wouldn't like this much as I've found him to say things like losing weight won't change your life... the underlying issue of why someone is fat will still be there.

And, he's right. I like the lists of fitting into 1 seat, taking up less cubic inches, etc...but for thinking a life will change so dramatically just because someone is x pounds lighter.... that's got problems all in it.

My life is not much different now that I was a hundred pounds ago. Granted, my back doesn't hurt much anymore and I take up less space but my life hasn't changed much.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
