I just want to brag a little bit....

Today marks 6 days post op and today has been my BEST day yet!!! I finally feel normal again! I put makeup on, left my house for awhile and felt great!! Decided to weigh myself for the first time and I’m down 14 pounds in 6 days! Wahoo!!! I’ll admit, I was in a slump for a couple of days post op feeling a bunch of negative emotions. Today I’m feeling great! Not to mention, it’s the first day post op that I haven’t had to take anything for pain or nausea!!!

Ps....I’m choosing to remain private about my journey with WLS...only telling close family and close friends and I’m so glad I have you guys to relate to!!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Congratulations! Yes Brag! You deserve it! 14 pounds, that's truly awesome!

Sounds about right. I was taking my dog short walks on my 6th day. Be careful, take it easy, and don't feel alarmed if you feel a bit of pain again on your 7th, 8th or 10th day..... Take extra strength Tylenol if the pain gets a bit too much. I stopped taking the prescribed pain pills 4 days after my surgery coz it was making me very loopy. I went back to work on day 12 but I mostly sit in front of the computer so it wasn't so bad. Refrain from standing up without using the arm chair to pull you up. Also I used the stomach support wrap with velcro that the hospital gave me when I go for my walks.

Like you, I decided I won't share my surgery to the world yet. Some of my family members and close friends know about it. I think I'll be ready to share the good news to everyone once I've lost my first 50 pounds. I had my surgery February 18th so a month and a day today and I've lost 33 pounds so far. Yahooo! I'm contemplating that most of my friends and family will be supportive, but there will be a few that will judge, and that's why I chose just not to share it with the world yet. I don't need the negative comments at this point. I need to focus and concentrate on me.

Good Luck! Excited for you.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
