Lately I’ve been experiencing this strange sensation where I eat A LOT but do not feel full, until suddenly I’m practically bursting at the seems I’m so full.
Why is this???

And how much are you eating? What types of foods? You may be eating past your fill signal (if you have one) then it catches up with you too late.

Try going back to strict portion sizes and eating time limits to test this.

Also if you can talk with your team soon.

Yea you guys make great points.
I think I’ve been eating too fast and clearly too much. I do this thing where I prepare a plate with slightly too much food, and then I take as many breaks as necessary until I’ve consumed all its contents. What I should be doing is making a small plate or walking away when I’m full (which I’d feel if I slowed down ...) Time to start tuning into my body’s signals.

I'm only 3 months out, so I'm still following doctor's recommendations of filling a plate with 1/2 Protein, 1/4 veggies, and 1/4 grains/carbs. You have to eat your protein first, so if you're full after or before eating all the protein, you stop. If not, you move on to veggies and stop when full. I never make it to veggies or grains because I'm full with the protein.

Weight your food if you can. I find I sometimes forget I had surgery and just start shoveling it in. Definitely not worth the pain that’s coming if you over eat or eat to fast.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
