Lost only 1 pound in a week

Recommended Posts

You're post op though, which means that your body is still recovering from surgery and likely retaining Water. I'm sure you'll see a big drop on the scale soon. Try not to stress about it and focus on those fluids. You're doing great!

One pound lost is better than no pounds lost or a gain, right? You're still recovering from surgery. It'll come with time. Be patient.

I came home weighing 12 lbs more than I went in and the scale didn’t budge those first few weeks. What everyone said, your body has been through a lot. Give it time to heal and adjust. Best advice that’s the hardest to take is lose the scale and don’t compare your loss rate with what you see others post. And if you haven’t yet, take your measurements. That has helped me a lot because even when the scale wasn’t moving my neck went down a whole inch in a week. Hang in there 👍🏻

All comes from them water- logging you while you're in there. Your body is peeved enough at you disturbing their status quo, so it holds on to that Fluid until it DECIDES it is the right time to release it, and "often inches start to go before the fluids all out-flow." A quicky, poem for you from yours truly!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
