A scale

Recommended Posts

I still haven’t bought a scale. I threw away that mean bitch about 10 years ago. When I started this process I weighed 412lbs on my WLC scales I weighed 308lbs the day of surgery at the hospital. On my 1 week post op I weighed 299lbs that is a number I haven’t seen in 20 years.
Now I have to buy a scale before my 4 week appointment. My question is what type of scale do you use. Brand and type would be very helpful. Thank you in advance.

Its expensive, but I like my fitbit Aria. It automatically sends my weight to the app. That way, it logs my weight, but I can decide not to really focus on it if I don't want to that day.

I purchased a Weight Watcher’s scale from BJ’s for $20. It is a great scale and accurate. The weight mirrors the scale in the doctor’s office.

I've been using the same Yunmai "mini" Wireless Bluetooth Smart scale with 10 Body Measurements for at least 2 years. The app is awesome and it's only $34.99 at the BariatricPal Store.

I have the WW Scale- I just get one it, kick it, and then get off LOL

But it does the trick, I don't use the fancy functions with it at this point. Probably won't ever but it was a good value. Either 20 or 30 bucks.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
