Any suggestions or advice to get me through this stage is greatly appreciated.

I was sleeved on the 15 th of January and my Drs have asked me not to do fruit due to sugar until the 6th month. I had a diet of lots of fruit. I do miss them. The seeds in Berries can be troublesome to many. When I have a craving I drink Water or I will buy Vitamin water that has a small amount of fruit juice in it. Just got to watch calorie and sugar content. Good luck. You will move past it shortly.

I have been allowed to have fruit since the mushy stage. Tinned or stewed and mashed up with yogurt or custard. I also have tinned peachs with my oats for Breakfast.

It is all quite variable and dependent upon the program that you are on. We were on soft foods (as tolerated) in the hospital while others have to wait a month or more. Likewise, fruit is a variable with some programs seeking to avoid it because of sugar content while others only minimize it behind Protein.

I've been trying to avoid carbs and was surprised the other day when I went to see my Nut and she said to start eating pitted fruits like peaches. I guess I will in moderation to keep things regular. She knows better than I.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
