Surgery Cancelled to A1C being too high

Recommended Posts

Anyone have their surgery cancelled or delayed due to A1C being high. Mine was 9.1 surgeon requires under 9. Any advice on how to quickly lower A1C. I am being tested again on March 5.

Bummer....

I would take a long look at what you are eating and drinking. Don't do that BS food funeral nonsense, throw in some more exercise and check your blood sugars every day to make sure you are keeping on track.

My friend had her surgery cancelled due to high glucose readings (200 plus) Endocrinologist prescribed another med and she is clear to go next week. In all, she had to wait another month. As for getting the A1c down, take your meds, get exercise and stay away from sugars and carbs. Good luck.

I hope your doctor gave you some suggestions? If not, shame on them and maybe ask your regular doctor or a dietician?

That's good news. Good luck on your 4/3/19 surgery.

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!

      Today was rough...
I've been experiencing a headache all day today that just won't go away. I'm thinking it's now progressing into a migraine. Does anyone else get headaches from taking vitamin B12? I did some research and learned that usually a lack of B12 causes headaches. But I've noticed when I take it, I have reoccurring headaches. 😫
