Looking Forward For Great Things

Recommended Posts

So how are you doing this fine Sunday? 6 days out,you probably are a mite sore, but it will pass. Every day, every way you're gonna get better and better! And you'll come to terms with your new belly, learn what is easy, what is hard, but gradually you'll firm a truce and go forward. And you have friends out here who have been through it all! I was an RnY but we still share a lot of the pains, sorrows and joys with the sleevers. So still ask me, I'm full of answers except of my,own case, parts of it still mystify me. But I'll get through, so will you, and the future will be bright ahead. 😝💓😝🍀

Congratulations and welcome to the losers bench! I too am excited for my journey. I think the one thing I most look forward to is competing in a ballroom competition that I wanted to do last year but due to my weight was intimidated. I am super excited for this September as it was this competition I saw last year that made me decide to get this done. My son has been a teacher for 7 years and I only finally just gave in to taking the lessons a year ago April! I am so looking forward to this year.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
