And the way things are turning out for me , I should keep a gastroenterologist stuffed in my back pocket at all times.
I also had to undergo a sleep study which confirmed my Sleep Apnea, thought it would be positive, there is an heredity component, Daddy was diagnosed with it a couple years before his death. So Uncle Snuffly, my C-Pap machine and I started "Steady Dating"

Shouldn't but remember to take your machine with you , I left a piece of mine at home, the hospital didn't have a replacement part, I was 48 miles from home, nobody could bring it to me so I ended up having to wear oxygen the whole time I was there.

Yes I believe it is, early in January is my 6-month appointment with the sleep doctor, I hope Dr Mooney agrees too.

Well you know Deneen ,while I am scheduling all these after- January 1st medical appointments I really should schedule a follow up with my pulmonologist Dr Hussein, haven't because I should get an X-Ray at his hospital on the East side of Columbus and all my other stuff is through Ohio State University or here in Mount Vernon. Considering I have mild COPD I shouldn't be 🙈🙉🙊monkey-doodling with my life, should I?

Right!! Well I’m going to get a chest X-ray today and make sure everything is all cleared for surgery. This lung stuff came up after the fact. Which has made me anxious. I’m thankful I didn’t go under and did not know I had issues. 🙌🏼

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
