Choices of liquids

Recommended Posts

I'm have a time with the choices of Soups that will help me through my 2 weeks PO sleeve. I have been drinking low sodium chicken broth, no sugar popsicles and Jello, Gatorade, Water, and Protein Shakes. I was wondering if I added Tomato Soup, in there to give myself a different choice, would it be wise? Another thing how do you take down the 64 ozs without feeling too full. #POSLEEVEDAY5 #DOWN9LBS

8 days PO... Tomato Soup is awesome but not according to my new gut. I can't keep it in. Everyone is different. Just try them all until you find what works.

Hey Ed! That Tomato Soup didn't work for me either after taking in 3-4 tablespoons! So I stopped and got me a 1/2 Water 1/2 Protein Shake. Egg drop Soup holds down pretty well. I' PO day 7 today.

Hey Zombie! I spoke with my surgeon's nurse and explained to her that the most I was able to get down was 40+/- and she explained to me that I should strive for the 64, but if 35-45 was all I could tolerate, just to work it in little at a time and slow sips of course. I'm PO 7 days today. I did my 1st-mile walk today, and I have been able to get down 54 ozs on yesterday, shooting for the 64 today, still working, but I might not make the 64 oz marker today, but I am working on it. Keep striving. Use the drink reminder so you can at least try every 15 minutes or so. Keep pushing!! We are all in this together! 💪

Well, guys after diluting the Campbell's Tomato Soup, my belly did not like it after the 3rd or 4th tablespoon, so yeah, I discarded it as well. I will just stick and duke out this next 7 days like a "G"! I got some egg drop Soup, and I made veggie soup today for the family, but I will still hold off on taking any of the juices in. I am still trying to get the 64 ozs completed. I did complete my 1-mile walk today, as my goal was set for today. 11 oz Protein Shake, and Water for the rest of the day for me!!

Tomato Soup may be to acidic for your new stomach. High in carbs and sugar. Try low sodium chicken Soup and strain out the broth to drink and give the rest to the family or dog.

I did Campbell’s Tomato, I cooked it with milk instead of Water and then strained it. Drank 4oz per day and no dumping

A Minor Miracle, Campbell's Tomato Soup is legendary for its HIGH carb content! Most people seem to dump like a 🚚 Truck.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
