16 mths out of sleeve gastrectomy , first ever pregnancy

Recommended Posts

I’m 16 mths and 102 pds down in weight from my sleeve it was the best choice I’ve ever made . Although my eating habits are not the healthiest and I have extreme fears of the scale rising . I believe I am pregnant for the first time and I’m 35 . I’m very afraid of the gain and the whole experience . Any fellow female sleevers to shed light ???

My one expectant sleeve friend, well technically she is a friend's daughter, my peers no longer are actively reproducing, her doctor told her good clean healthy foods, exercise, she was on bariatric Vitamins for her, prenatal for the baby, told Emily Your body will straighten everything out, she gained 17 and a half pounds, Michael Anthony Joseph was a respectable 7 pounds 11 oz, they went home at 2 days postpartum, mainly because her hubby had Sunday off. Emily and Baby Boy are just healthy as can be and she is nursing him, he's gaining like a little Teddy Bear, so doggone cute!

17 months, she started before sleeve at I think 41BMI. She c was supposed to wait the extra month but she and Scottie celebrated and she got the "Gold ring " off the marital merry-go-around. She wasn't sure at first because she hadn't been fertile in the past, she was 26 so youth was on her side. Her mom teased her --why 3 names for her son? She said " He's a miracle,I'll use all my favorite names at once" her success, although she is so much younger, kind of inspired me to "keep on Keeping on" when I hit some roadblocks along the way to my own. And I swear in my county there are No More Rny, so I befriended mostly sleevers. Haven't seen updated pix for a while, maybe if they come for a visit I can see them again. But once her morning sickness abated. she walked, did prenatal yoga ate so clean, green, she was a poster model for good living, basically went towards minimal meat, I would say close to vegan, grew as much as possible. I'm sure there are girls out there maybe didn't do so good but I'm proud of Emily.

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
