I know there is a lot of people that have had this revision, can anyone let me know what to expect. I did the sleeve surgery with ease, I struggled after like every else does but it was worth it. Just wondering what foods will irritate me and how much I'll be able to eat because I heard they make the pouch even smaller, is this true?

Everyone is different. Not all foods that bother one will bother another.

I had the revision 7 months ago and I am able to tolerate every food I have tried under the sun. Dairy bothers me sometimes but only straight milk.

The revision for me was fine, no complications. I lost weight at a faster rate but now I have stalled for quite some weeks. But I am also working out more and weight lifting.

Can anyone tell me about taking medicine after the gastric bypass, I take some bipolar meds, and of course I take Vitamins after having the sleeve. I take 6 calcium citrate tablets, 3 Multi Vitamins daily has anyone had trouble taking their meds?

My dietician had me buy a bariatric Vitamin where it’s about $25 a month for 120 pills. You take 4 a day but can take 2 at a time. It contains everything. I just need to do my B12 shots since I don’t absorb it. I can’t do 5 different Vitamins. I am also bipolar and on so many meds. They said I have to crush everything but it will be so much to eat every night. Not sure how I’ll do it.

I'm only on prozac and seroquel. I hate chewable anything regarding Vitamins but we can't have it both ways. I'll muttle through lol

i saw one doc video and he said converting to a bypass from a sleeve is not worth it for a extra 15- 25 pound weight loss... unless you have serious gerd issues.. if you want the best wls the duodenal switch would be easier for a sleeve patient since it is part of the switch surgery.. but you have to spend 100-200 dollars month on Vitamins alone for that procedure..

I struggled with pills the first week or so after surgery, it hurt. I broke my Multivitamin up into small chunks at first and was told three quarters was fine until I could work my way up to a whole one. I think I did 10 days with the quarters then was able to take a whole one but only along with food. I just got switched to capsules today so yay for that! You just have to be careful that you aren't taking Iron and Calcium together or within 2 hours of each other as they will cancel each other out.

I haven't had any problems with low blood sugar but I am just not hungry, at all. I have been focusing on high Protein when I do eat because the Protein Shakes are getting to me. My doc is more concerned with me getting my protein, Water, and Vitamins in at this point. I'm focusing on that and then going to work on adding food in.

Might I ask why you are going from the sleeve to bypass? Did the sleeve not work for you?

I had the sleeve in June of 2016 and it still works to this day. I have severe gerd and I also have a hiatal hernia which is why I am doing the revision. My date is October 15th.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
